Erbe wins Microsoft Intelligent Manufacturing Award for EvidenceStream
Erbe Elektromedizin GmbH has been awarded the Microsoft Intelligent Manufacturing Award (MIMA) 2026 in the “Small and Medium Enterprises (SME)” category. The award recognizes the AI-based platform EvidenceStream, developed in collaboration with Flinn.ai, which enables Erbe to systematically unlock clinical evidence and make it usable for key business processes.
Focus on evidence-based decision-making
With EvidenceStream, Erbe strengthens its consistent focus on scientifically sound decision-making. The platform automatically analyzes and structures medical literature, making it available for regulatory, strategic, and product-related use.
The solution meets the requirements of the EU Medical Device Regulation (MDR) and is already used across more than 60 product groups.
For Erbe, this means:
- evidence-based product development
- well-founded performance evaluations and regulatory documentation
- continuous access to up-to-date clinical insights
Greater efficiency through AI support
By using EvidenceStream, Erbe significantly optimizes internal processes. Analysis and evaluation tasks can now be completed in roughly half the time compared to before. In addition, redundant workflows across departments are reduced.
Within the first year:
- more than 5,000 abstract screenings
- 97 literature analyses
were conducted.
The time gained is deliberately used for scientific evaluation and strategic decision-making.
